What do I do if I am having problems with the sprinklers?
If you are experiencing problems with the sprinklers, please contact the Board.  You can leave a flag where the sprinkler is not working. Your information will be shared with our irrigation company

Why can’t I park my work (commercial) vehicle in my driveway overnight?
Residential parking areas are designated as areas where people live and are not meant to be used for commercial or industrial purposes. Commercial vehicles often cause safety concerns and even legal disputes. Oversized vehicles can block access for emergency responders.

Can my work (commercial) vehicle be parked at the pool or on my swale overnight?
No.  Work vehicles are not permitted in our community either at the pool or on the swale.  Parking vehicles on your swale damages the grass and sprinkler system.  If damages result from vehicles parked on the swale, the homeowner will be responsible for fixing and replacement, as required.

Can I park my vehicle at the pool overnight?
Yes, as a homeowner you may park your car or invite a guest to park their car at the pool.  This should be temporary and not on a constant basis.

I am getting ready to start a business at my home.  What paperwork is required to proceed?
No commercial trade or business activity will be conducted in our community.  Our homes are for single family residential purposes only.

I am not in my car and had to enter through the visitor line, the guard asked for my identification, why?
The guard is verifying you as a resident.  This is to ensure peace, safety, and tranquility for all of our homeowners.  All individuals will be requested to show identification to the guard.  With 219 families, it is impossible for the guards to remember all of the residents.  If you fail to provide identification, the guard has the right to deny you entrance to our community.

When I pulled up to the gate, the arm didn’t raise causing the arm to break and hit my vehicle.  Who reimburses me for the damage to my vehicle?
If you approach the gate and it doesn’t lift and you break the arm and it hits your vehicle; you will be responsible for a new gate and any damage your vehicle sustained.

I need a new sticker because I bought a new car.  Where can I get a new one, and how much does it cost?
Please fill the vehicle registration form to register your new car and submit it to [email protected], we will contact you when the form has been processed and a sticker will be left at the guard house. The sticker will be applied to your vehicle by the security guard. A payment of $25 payable by check or cash has to be paid to the guard for residents. A payment of $100 payable check or cash has to be paid to the guard for renters.

What are the pool hours?
The pool is open from 8:00 am to sunset Sunday – Saturday.

What hours is the lifeguard on duty?
We do not have a lifeguard. You swim at your own risk.

How often does the cleaning service come to the pool?
We do not have a cleaning service for our pool area.  Each resident is responsible for keeping the pool area clean. So please clean up your area when leaving the pool.

My neighbor is playing his/her music too loudly.  Is this something the Board can handle?
No, the Board does not address any issues that are neighbor to neighbor related.  If you are experiencing a problem with a neighbor, please try to work with the neighbor on a resolution that is satisfactory to you both.

Why did I receive a violation letter for walking my dog without a leash and not collecting his/her waste?
All pets are required to be walked on a leash and all waste cleaned up.  This is not just a requirement for Sunset Cove but also a law in the city of Plantation.  All violations reported to Sunset Cove will also be reported to the City of Plantation.

I came home from a vacation to find my mailbox and stand broken.  When is the board going to fix it?
Each homeowner is responsible for the care and replacement of their mailbox. At the request of the homeowner, the board can replace the mailbox.  The cost to replace a mailbox is the homeowner’s responsibility.

How often does the landscaper cut my grass?
Once every 10 days between May – October.  Once every 14 days between November – April.

The landscaper forgot to weed my yard and trim my bushes, what do I do?
It is the responsibility of the homeowners to weed their yard.  The landscaper does not do any weeding.  If they forgot to trim your bushes, please contact the Board.

How often are the Palms and hardwoods trimmed?
The Palm trees are cut twice a year in March/April and October. The hardwoods are cut only in March.

Ants have entered my property from outside, how do I contact our fertilization and pest control company to report the issue?
Our fertilization and pest control is responsible for treating our property for certain insects that might cause damage to your grass and associated vegetation.  It does not include treatment of other insects that might infiltrate your property.  It is the responsibility of each homeowner to manage their own pest control service.

*Fertilization is done 4 times a year — End February, May, Aug/Sept and December

Who do I contact regarding rats, possums, and raccoons?
Our contract does not treat for rats and other small animals.  Our service can provide traps for the capture and disposal for an additional fee that is the responsibility of the homeowner.

Why are people loitering on our property at the pool and parking lot?
Loitering in the pool area and parking lot after hours is not permitted.

Can guests stay in the pool area overnight?
No.  The pool is for the exclusive use of homeowners.  This would be considered trespassing.  If you see something suspicious, please contact the guard, who will call the police.

I am going to replace my roof, who do I contact?
First, you will need to complete the architecture review board forms and email them. The ARB will review and return with a final disposition.  You will need this as part of your permit package with the City.
